Charity quilts are a good excuse for me to try new quilting designs. I guess this is a freeform clamshell design, but with it being upside-down, it looks more like scales or something. I like it, but feel like it’s missing something…

I love it! I’m totally in awe of your machine quilting abilities. What a nice contribution to, I’m sure, a very worthy cause!
I love it! I’ve been wanting to try that, but did a little something different on my last one (scallops further apart and on the diagonal). Also – went to the quilt guild meeting last night and was bummed not to get to meet you. Maybe next month!
I think it looks great!!! It doesn’t look like scales…. reminds me of mountains or hills.
I’m so comforted to see that all your stitches are not exactly the same length! My machine doesn’t have a walking foot so my stitches very rarely are all equal. It bums me out but I take heart knowing that not eveyone’s are perfect
I really like the clamshells. I don’t know how you managed to get them all so even tho!
What about a couple of random shapes in the clamshells? Little crabs, fish?
Missing something? Not from this perspective. I have never done clamshells and for some reason am intimidated by them—not sure why. I want to…..but keep putting it off. That’s why I think yours looks fine—-cause I am too much of a baby to have tried them yet and am looking on in admiration !!
LOVE the quilting!
